Iowa Wesleyan University – Strategic Plan

In 2021, Iowa Wesleyan University announced “Reimagining Our Future.” A strategic plan intended to guide the institution’s efforts through 2025. I created visuals within the “Goals” based on the printed strategic plan booklet designed by the IW Graphic Designer.

In an effort to raise awareness and support of Reimaging Our Future, I worked with the Vice President for Enrollment, Marketing, and Communications and the University President to write and film a video asking for philanthropic support.

How to College

In the summer of 2022, I worked with a student intern to develop and film a 20+ video series designed to guide new and prospective students through the most confusing and uncertain elements of going to college. I outlined the topics and themes of the series with input from departments across campus, including Admissions, Student Success, and Student Development to ensure frequently asked questions and concerns were being addressed.

I coordinated with faculty and staff across campus to create a filming schedule that worked within my intern’s availability. I operated sound and first camera, my intern operated second camera and completed the editing on most of the series under my guidance. The series was released primarily across the Fall 2022 semester on the official Iowa Wesleyan YouTube channel and was incorporated into IW Admissions digital materials and communications.

Other Iowa Wesleyan Projects

I worked with the Marketing team at Iowa Wesleyan from 2019 until IW closed in 2023. During this time, I was involved in the creation of many video projects. For most of these projects, I was the primary videographer and editor.

These projects spanned from end-of-year celebrations to the “Getting to Know” series in which I conducted interviews with faculty across campus to celebrations of holidays that related to the majors that we offered (like art).

Personal Projects

I operate a personal YouTube channel, on which I post a variety of content, including comedy sketches, vlogs, and crafting projects. A lot of my content has focused on issues such as education, literacy, and book banning; however, I also try not to take myself too seriously online. I often enjoy making videos for the sake of having created videos.
